D-26 Thursday Sept 3 2026 (Yining & Urumqi) - after Yining & Nalati, we stayed for 3 nights in Urumqi & took it easy on our 1st day arrival in Urumqi having on the move for 25 days exploring & visiting the major touristy sites in Northern & Western Xinjiang covering the cities & county towns of Fuyun, Beitun, Altay, Burqin, Jiadengyi, Karamay, Kuytun, Yining, Nalati & Tekes Baqua City ! My mood has changed from a feeling of anxiety to that of a more relaxed one now that I am at the tail end of the Xinjiang trip ! A sense of achievement has filled my mind at this juncture & so is my travel buddy who is a first timer to Xinjiang.
1) High speed train ride from Yining railway station > Urumqi railway station (09.10 > 14.00, 5hrs, 694km, CNY 128 = Rm78)
2) A desert landscape awaiting for you to admire for this stretch of train route.
3) Arriving in Urumqi railway station - my last leg of travel, staying for 3 nights in Urumqi before flying home sweet home !
4) Hotel Accommodation (3 nights): Qingguo Light Luxury Hotel (Wanda Hugh Speed Train Railway Station), Lianhu Road, Urumqi, room tariff @Rm143, 2 single beds; we stayed in the same hotel upon our first arrival in Urumqi on Aug 10 & 11 !
5) My hand written piece of paper outlining the major cities we visited (except Fuhai due to poor connecting public transport from Jiadengyi) + an additional city we visited from Yining ie Tekes Baqua City on a day trip.
6) Cityscape of downtown Urumqi nearby our hotel - my solo evening stroll; bought 2 pre-packed of dried raisins (CNY88 = Rm54) from a supermarket for home !
7) Beautiful sunset scene in downtown Urumqi - an amazing sight !
8) Beef noodle soup (CNY20) dinner in a local restaurant nearby my hotel.
