D-6 Friday Aug 14 2026 (Fuyun & Beitun, Xinjiang) - after our 2 nights stay in Fuyun, our next destination is Beitun. This morning, we took a MPV van departing 08.45 from Fuyun Passenger Transport Centre to Beitun (approx 176km)
Beitun is a city in the north of Xinjiang, administratively it is a county-level city under the direct administration of the regional government, though it is geographically located in Altay Prefecture.
Public Transport: 1 MPV van ride (CNY70 = Rm42).

1) My solo early morning walk in downtown Fuyun - my usual practice & enjoying the cool & pleasant morning weather (23c).
2) My travel buddy's morning breakfast in a local restaurant in downtown Fuyun.
3) MPV van ride departing 08.45 from Fuyun Passenger Transport Centre > Beitun Passenger Transport Centre (approx 176km, 2.5 hrs)
4) Countryside scenery as viewed from the MPV van ride from Fuyun > Beitun.
5) Arriving in Beitun (12.30) & staying for 2 nights in Junbang Express Hotel, room tariff Rm84, 2 single beds; walkabout in downtown Beitun Food Street after our hotel check-in & a short rest.

7) Deren Shan Park, Beitun, Xinjiang - a prominent urban landmark & natural observation point overlooking the cityscape of Beitun, a scenic backdrop for the city, offering panoramic views over the Beitun skyline.
8) Monument of Genghis Khan, Beitun, Xinjiang - the mountain area commemorates Genghis Khan's western military expeditions, which heavily shaped the history of the Altay region
9) Walkabout in Downtown Beitun, Xinjiang
10) A cold noodle dish (CNY10) as my dinner for this evening in Beitun Food Street !
11) Bought a bunch of Muscat fresh grapes (CNY18) in Beitun Food Street.
12) My travel buddy's favourite instant noodle eaten as a light meal whenever he is hungry !
