D-12 Thursday Aug 12 2026 (Jiadengyu) - after a 2 nights stay in Burqin, we took a morning bus from Burqin Passenger Transport Centre departing 10.00 to Jiadengyi Tourist Visitor Centre (approx 150km) for our 3 nights stay in Jiadengyu primarily to visit the Kanas National Geopark & Hemu Village. Upon arrival in Jiadengyu & after the hotel check-in, we used the free Kanas shuttle circular bus service (local loop) for familiarisation & visited the Kanas Tourist Service Centre, shopping mall, food court, Jiadengyu Transfer Centre & Silk Road International Food Bazaar, Castle Hotel & Folklore Feng Qing Garden.
Jiadengyu is a mountain village & the primary tourist gateway & ticket station for the Kanas Scenic Area in Northern Xinjiang, China; favourably known as the "Little Switzerland of the East" featuring vast grasslands, dense forests & snow-capped mountain, it serves as the base for Kanas, Hemu & Baihaba.

1) My early morning walk (solo) in downtown Burgin prior to our departure by bus to Jiadengyu, the street was pretty quiet during this period (07.00 > 08.30), most shops open for business from 10.00 onwards.
2) My early morning breakfast in a local restaurant nearby our hotel.
3) Burqin Passenger Transport Centre - bought our bus tickets (@CNY35) from the Ticketing Counter for our bus ride from Burqin > Jiadengyu (150km)
4) Desert, grassland & countryside landscape as viewed from the windows of the moving bus from Burqin > Jiadengyu.
5) Dark clouds looming on the sky !
6) After 2 hours of driving on Altay mountainous & winding roads, our bus finally arrived at the Jiadengyu Tourist Service Centre / Passenger Bus Terminal (public & private connecting bus / van services to Kanas Airport, Baihaba, Hemu, Burqin, Aletai & Beitun etc)
7) Jiadengyu Tourist Service Centre - a 3 storey long building with lifts comprising of a shopping mall, food court, Kanas National Geopark Consultancy / Ticketing counters.
8) Jiadengyu Sightseeing Bus Service Central Station / Boarding Point located in front of the Jiadengyu Tourist Service Centre (free local loop bus services from 08.00 > 21.00 & 21.00 > midnight, every 20 minutes - 6 stopovers to downtown Jiadengyu (Silk Road International Food Bazaar, Castle & Mongolian Yurts Homestay Area for sightseeing activities & nearby hotel / homestay etc.)
9) Jiadengyu Free Sightseeing Bus ride No 1 (Local Loop) - from the Central Station > Perfect Hotel (near Jiadengyu Dining Plaza station, 3 stops)
10) Hotel Accommodation (Jiadengyu): my 3 nights stay in Kanas Perfect Hotel, Platform 3, Dining Plaza, Jiadengyu, room tariff @CNY230 = Rm274 = US$67 per room night, 2 single beds.
11) Jiadengyu Free Sightseeing Bus Ride No 2 (Local Loop) > Jiadengyu Tourist Visitor Centre to inquire admission tickets, internal shuttle bus services to Kanas National Geopark, Hemu & Baihada Village etc)

20) Jiadengyu Free Sightseeing Bus Ride No 4 (Local Loop) > Silk Road International Food Bazaar & the adjacent Jiadengyu Transfer Centre

22) Jiadengyu Transfer Centre (located next to International Silk Road Food Bazaar) - the pick up point for tourists visiting the Hemu Village (2 daily bus services ie 11.00 & 16.00)
23) Dinner in a eatery stall, Jiadengyu Tourist Centre Food Court. - savoured a plate of stir-fried egg / tomatoes & braised chicken + rice (CNY44 = Rm26) for 2.
24) Jiadengyu Free Sightseeing Bus Ride No 5 (Local Loop) > Kanas Perfect Hotel, Jiadengyu Dining Plaza / Night Market - thus ending our exploratory visit to a few sightseeing places in & around Jiadengyu Tourist Visitor Centre. As for our 2nd & 3rd day, we will focus on Kanas National Geopark (Fish Viewing Platform, Kanas Lake, Wolong, Moon & Fairy Bay) & spend our 3rd day visiting the Hemu Village from the Jiadengyu Transfer Centre.
25) Evening walk in Jiandengyu Dining Plaza / Night Market prior to returning to our hotel for a well earned rest !
