Vietnam (Post Covid-19 Overseas Visit No 3 - My 20 days in Hanoi, Sapa, Lao Cai, Haiphong, Tam Coc, Hue, Danang & Hoi An, Vietnam) Day 8 Sunday Feb 12 2023 - Hanoi Day 3

Day 8 Sunday Feb 12 2023 - my 2nd visit to Hanoi after visiting SAPA (3 nights) & Lao Cai (1 night); upon arrival (05.45) from Hanoi train station, our group took a taxi to Little Diamond Hotel near Old Quarter, after leaving our luggage in the hotel, our group made a visit to West Lake & Tran Quoc Pagoda in Hanoi & an evening walk to the Beer Street, Old Quarter after a dinner.  

Travel itinerary: Lao Cai > Hanoi (288km by train 7.5hrs)

Total expenses incurred (3 days): Rm328 (US$75)

3) West Lake, Hanoi - the biggest freshwater lake of Hanoi, located north west of the city center, with a shore length of 17km & 500ha in area, this is the largest lake of the capital & a popular place for recreation with many surrounding gardens, hotels & villas. 


4) Tran Quoc Pagoda, Hanoi - 1,500 years old ! 


5) Group's breakfast in a local eatery stall in Hanoi City Centre, Vietnamese rice roll with meat floss 40,000 dong (Rm7.80) + fried fish cake 35,000 dong (Rm6.80), local delicacy !

8) Ta Hien Beer Street, Hanoi - locally known as "Pho Tay" (Foreigner Street), a small street lying in famous Old Quarter of Hanoi, near Hoan Kiemj Lake, the street just stretch 200 meters, but it is one of the most crowded streets in Old Quarter.

11) 28, Hang Buom, Hanoi - a heritage building once upon a time situated at the junction of principal roads & rivers in a busy merchant city area during the good old days of Hanoi !
