1) Public transport - took a local city Bus (Rp145=Rm8.70) from Aurangabad Central Bus Station to Ajanta Caves (102km), due to poor road conditions & pot holes, the drive took 3 hours so be prepared for a long tedious bus journey if you are taking a non-airconditioned public bus - your whole body will be shaken after this bus trip of 6 hours (to & return to Aurangabad)
2) Arriving at the Ajanta Caves front entrance - payment of Rp20 as amenity fee to a local tourism authority
3) A short walk via a shopping plaza to take a non-airconditioned shuttle bus (Rp20 one way) direct to the Ajanta Visitor Center (4km). You may choose to walk but bring along a muesli bar to munch to give you an extra energy !
4) Panels display of PR & promotional materials on UNESCO World Heritage sites in India & the World at the Ajanta Caves Visitor Center
