Day 18 Friday 27/9/2019
1) Overnight sleeper train (Rp560=Rm34 3A) from Khajuraho arriving at Allahabad Junction (23.50>06.50) to board a connecting train to New Jalpaiguri (15.50>08.30) for our border crossing from West Bengal to Gantok, Sikkim (via Rangpo)
2) No overnight stay in Allahabad as we need to take a connecting train (Rp1175=Rm71 3A) in the evening (23.50>06.50) from Allahabad Junction to New Jalpaiguri Junction (23.50>06.50) for our next visit to Gangtok, Sikkim
3) Allahabad Junction
4) Given that our group had 3/4 day in Allahabad, we were able to visit a nearby touristy place ie Khusru Bagh, a large garden & burial complex consists of 4 sandstone mausoleums for Nisar Neghum, Shah Neghum, Khusru & a 4th mausoleum named Bibi Tamolon.
" Khusru Bagh is a walled garden and burial complex in Muhaila Khuldabad close to the Allahabad Junction railway station in Prayagrai, India. It is roughly 2 miles from Akbar fort built in 1556-1605. "
5) Due to a local festive occasion & drizzling, our group was not able to visit the Fort Akbar as it was impossible for us to move around the main area which was jam packed with holiday trippers & choked with heavy traffic / motorists although we had hired a auto rickshaw (Rs50 one way) to drop us at a spot on Triveni Road which required us to walk over a wet & muddy ground towards Sri Devraha Baba Sewashram Tirth Ray Prayang Pith Temple & Fort Akbar/ Prayang is 1km away !
Makan Makan (Eating) in Allahabad - both of us bought a takeaway pack of Chicken Biryani (Rp130=Rm7.80) from a stall nearby the railway station as lunch and we ate at the waiting room of the railway station - fully satisfied with this yummy meal, our favorite food in India !
