My 19 days free & easy visit to South Vietnam (Phu Quoc Island, Rach Gia, Ho Chi Minh, Cu Chi, Phan Thiet / Mui Ne, Bao Loc, Dalat, Phan Rang Thap Cham & Nha Trang) Day 14 Dalat

Day 14 Sunday Jan 31 2026 (Da Lat, Vietnam) - a big day in Da Lat targeting our visits (via Grab car services plus a bit of walking in between destinations of 1.5 to 2km) to 7 major touristy places in & around Da Lat ie Linc Phuoc Pagoda, Datanla waterfall, Truc Lam Monastery, Tuyen Lam Lake, Chua Linh Son Temple, Cho Dalat & Da Lat Night Market

1) Grab car ride (133K VND = Rm21) from our hotel to Linh Phuoc Pagoda, Da Lat, Vietnam; from the old Da Lat Railway station, you could take a steam train travels to Trai Mat, a picturesque suburb well known for its fields of flowers, visitors come here to capture the layers of clouds & rays of light filtering through the pine trees, Linh Phuoc is located about 5 minutes walk from the Trai Mat train station. 

2) Linh Phuoc Pagoda, Da Lat, Vietnam - located 8km from Da Lat city centre, built in 1949 & subsequently expanded into a larger Buddhist pagoda meticulously designed using pieces of glass, pottery & porcelain to create a unique design & distinctive architecture style, a unique & colorful place of worship, now a popular tourist attraction, both for local & overseas visitors, a must visit when in Da Lat ! 



3) Long Hoa VienLinh Phuoc Pagoda, Da Lat, Vietnam - a 49 meter long dragon-shaped sculpture placed around a Maittreya Buddha statute at the front gate, the scales of the dragon are made from 12,000 beer bottles (recycled materials) & gained a strong impression by the local community. 



4) Linh Thap, Linh Phuoc Pagoda, Da Lat, Vietnam - a 7 tiered 37 meter tall tower is considered on of the tallest bell towers in Vietnam, it comprises a worshipping place for valuable deity statutes, a museum & the Dai Hong Bell; the whole tower is decorated with images of dragons, phoenixes, the 4 seasons & 4 legendary creatures, the 8 ancient musical bands & the 8 treasures of fairies, hundreds of ceramic pieces were inlaid into the roof & walls reminding us of the imperial tombs of Nguyen dynasty monarchs ! Both of us managed to walk up via narrow stairs to all the upper floors of the tower & from the upper floors, one could get a scenic view of the surrounding environment ! 



5) Dai Hong Chung, Linh Phuoc Pagoda, Da Lat, Vietnam - 4.3m high bell chime, weighing 8.5 tons, housed on the level 2 of the pagoda, you can do a praying by writing down your wish on a small paper & glue it on the bell & tinkle the chime three times to deliver the message to the Buddha, it would bring good luck if you do this spirit ritual in the pagoda !

7) The Main Hall, Linh Phuoc Pagoda, Da Lat, Vietnam - here lies a 17 meter high Bodhisattva statute surrounded by 324 dharmakaya or the enlightened bodies of Buddha.  


8) Buddha statute made of flowers Linh Phuoc Pagoda, Da Lat, Vietnam - this 17 meters tall  statute weighing 3 tons is made from 650,000 dried golden flowers by 30 craftsman & 600 Buddhist volunteers over 36 days ! 


9) Museum & showroom display of antiques, woodcrafts, marble & jade stones, Chinese gods, idols & deities etc, very impressed with the craftsmanship & quality of items on display & on sale here ! 


10) Walkabout in Trai Mat village town prior to our visit to Datanla Waterfall. 


11) My travel buddy's beef noodle lunch in a local restaurant in Trai Mat town. 


12) Tran Hung Dao Street - the most beautiful Cherry blossom road in Da Lat city, this road stretches for more than 800m with 2 sidewalks, said to be the best cherry blossom viewing place for visitors to take pictures ! Our Grab car ride (153K VNG = Rm24) from Trai Mat village town > Datanla Waterfall, Da Lat, Vietnam passing this cherry blossom road ...... 


13) Datanla Waterfall, Da Lat, Vietnam - one of Da Lat's most beautiful waterfall, visitors could opt for a number of adventure games ie riding the Alphine coaster, high rope course, Ziplining & canoe or kayaking etc,  entrance fee 40K VND = Rm6.30 


14) A 2km walk from Datanla Waterfall entrance to Truc Lam Monastery - just admiring the countryside & forest scenery ! 


15) Truc Lam Monastery Cable Car Station, Da Lat, Vietnam - Da Lat cable car tourist area, we did not take the cable car ride, instead we focussed our visits on Truc Lam Monastery & Tuyen Lam Lake ! 


16) Thien Vien Truc Lam (Truc Lam Monastery), Da Lat, Vietnam - a serene Buddhist temple, located 5km from Da Lat city, built in 1993, the largest Vietnamese Zen monastery located on Phuong Hoang mountain. 




17) Tuyen Lam Lake, Da Lat, Vietnam - a reservoir in the city of Da Lat, a national tourist area can be reached by cable car or Grab from the city centre (6km) 


18) Chua Linh Son Temple, Da Lat, Vietnam - took a Grab (103K VND = Rm16) from Tuyen Lam Lake to this temple located near to the city centre.


19) Walkabout in downtown Da Lat & my solo visit to Cho Dalat & Dalat Night Market before returning to hotel. 


20) Cho Da Lat, Vietnam - a tourist attraction, busy most of the time, many vendors & stalls selling a diverse range of goods, local food, handmade products etc 


21) My late afternoon lunch in Cho Dalat, savoured a bowl of vegetarian noodle soup (35K VND = Rm5.50) sitting along with a few locals & enjoying the atmosphere & ambience here ! 


22) Street food stalls & vendors operating by the roadside as seen from the Cho Dalat complex 


23) Da Lat Night Market, Vietnam - one of the most popular tourist attractions in this charming mountain city, located in the city centre on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street, also near the Cho Da Lat, the place is lively & vibrant, a shopping haven as well as for food ! 


24) A short walk from the Da Lat Nigh Market back to Ha Na hotel - a great outcome & a day well spent !
