Day 30 Jan 9 2024 (City No 11 - Mysore) - focused our visit by visiting Chikka Gadiyara & the surrounding, a historic landmark in the heart of Mysore city.
1) Chikka Gadiyara, Mysore, Karnataka - a landmark structure in the heart of Mysore, this clock (Duffein Clock Tower is a historic relic & heritage structure of Mysore city) was built in 1886, one of the oldest clock towers in Karnataka
2) Dodda Gadiyara, Mysore, Karnataka - built in 1927, this heritage landmark is named after Lord Dufferin, also called Dodda Gadiyara in Kannada or the Big Clock by the locals.
3) Devaraja Market, Mysore, Karnataka - the bustling commercial hub, near KR Circle
4) City Bus Station, Mysore, Karnataka
5) Mysore Palace, North Gate, Kartanaka
6) Kote Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Mysuru, Karnataka - located to the north of Mysore Palace, near the Balarama Gate; on Amavasya, a special pooja is performed & the thaithas / talisman to be given to the devotees are charged by chanting of powerful mantras, this temple has its share of Muslim devotees too as the divine being is believed to cure diseases by tying the thaithas !
7) A municipality park next to the Kote Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Mysore, fascinated by a century old tree standing tall in the park.
8) Shopping of sweetcorn, pistachio, pumpkin seeds, biscuits / confectionery.
8) An evening walkabout in a public park & the surrounding, opposite our hotel (Aishwarya Suites, Mysore) near the Abdul Karam Azzad Circle, a number of 3 to 4 star hotels are located in the vicinity.
