" An early morning walk is a blessing for the whole day. Good morning, City Centre of Kuala Lumpur "

Friday June 2 2023 - My Staycation No 35 to City Centre, Kuala Lumpur with my wife & sister-in-laws, Sally & Soon Hoh (3 Charlie Angels of Leong family). A change of travel plan today. As the Genting bus tickets were all sold out for the Friday morning rides (08.30 till 14.00), so instead of heading home, our group decided to make a visit to Kwai Chai Hong, Petaling Street & Central Market, all these touristy places are located within walking distance from the Pasar Seni MRT station, City Centre Kuala Lumpur. We ended our visit by having a "lovely" Hainanese lunch in Brickfields Kuala Lumpur ! Indeed, this KL visit has a strong Hainanese character & flavour ie Jalan Polis has a number of Hainan Kopitiam or Kafei Dian, Kwai Chai Hong in Lorong Paggung has a wall mural of Hainan Kopitiam written in 4 Chinese characters & an old Restoran Sin Kee in Brickfields serving Hainanese chicken chop, steamed pork rice etc ! So go "Hainan" if you do show up in Jalan Polis or Jalan Panggung in the City Centre of Kuala Lumpur !

My travel buddies: my wife, Sally Leong & Soon Hoh. Fair Lady Fair Lady on a morning walk, who is the fairest of them all !

1) Jalan Balai Polis, City Centre, Kuala Lumpur - lined with pre-war shophouses now operating as modern cafes with traditional settings, observed long queue of customers lining up in established traditional, hipster & Hainanese style kopitiam ie Ho Kow & Guan Chong Kafei Dian etc !

2) Kwai Chai Hong (Little Demon Alley), Lorong Panggung, City Centre, Kuala Lumpur - a quaint little heritage back alley with interactive murals reliving a part of Kuala Lumpur Chinatown in the 1960's !

3) Petaling Street, City Centre, Kuala Lumpur - a tourist destination, a covered market street where tourists can haggle a range of goods from clothing, accessories to souvenirs & savouring  a wide variety of local food & delicacies. Food Glorious Food which is the tastiest of them all !

4) Sultan Street, City Centre, Kuala Lumpur

5) Rex Cinema (REXKL), Jalan Sultan, City Centre, Kuala Lumpur - a historical site, once a cinema / theatre in the 1970's,  now a community hub for F & B, art & culture. Old is gold & now becomes trendiest in the town !

6) Jalan Hang Lekir, City Centre, Kuala Lumpur - flower flower on show, who is the prettiest one of all !

7) Kasturi Walk, Jalan Hang Kasturi, City Centre, Kuala Lumpur

8) Central Market, Jalan Hang Kasturi, City Centre, Kuala Lumpur - the oldest surviving marketplace established since 1888, known to locals as Pasar Seni, this bazaar houses more than 350 shops retailing traditional goods, art & collectibles, local handicrafts, located adjacent is Kasturi Walk.
