Day 13 March 19 2024 Tuesday (Taichung & Chiayi) - my 2 nights stay in Chiayi to visit Alishan National Recreation Area.
1) Complimentary Buffet breakfast in Chance Hotel, Jianguo Rd, Taichung
2) Morning walk in downtown Taichung
3) Taichung Second Market
4) Walkabout in Downtown Tai Chung
5) BRT Bus Stop & the surrounding, Tai Chung
6) Painted Animated Lane, Taichung
7) Train ride from Taichung Train Station > Alishan Forest Railway Chiayi Station; departing 11.50 (97km, 2hrs)
Chiayi County, Taiwan - bordered by mountains on one side & the sea on another, Chiayi County is the only county in Taiwan with 3 major national scenic areas ie Alishan National Scenic Area, Southwest Coast National Scenic Area & Siraya National Scenic Area.
Day 13 March 19 2024 (Chiayi, Taiwan).
1) Arriving at the Chiayi / Alishan Forest Railway Station
2) Inquiring about train tickets buying for our group's visit to Alishan National Scenic Area tomorrow morning; given tomorrow (Wednesday) is a weekday, there is a Forest Railway train (NT$384 one way) departing Chiayi at 09.00 to Penqihu (only one ride per day) ! you may choose to take a tour bus (NT$240 one way) or taxi (NT$500 one way) to Alishan.
3) Hailed a Uber cab (NT$104 = Rm15.70) in front of the Chiayi Railway Station to Back Home Hotel, Xingye West Road, Chiayi (1.4km); room tariff NT$700 = Rm105 (twin sharing) per night.
4) Walkabout (late afternoon) in downtown Chiayi (along Renai Road) from Back Home Hotel to Alishan Forest Railway Chiayi Train Station & return (advance booking of Alishan Forest Railway train tickets for our tomorrow outing, the ticketing counter has limited seats left when our group makes the purchase)
5) Dinner in a Pork Rib soup restaurant located next to Back Home Hotel, savoured 2 bowls of pork rib carrot & bitter gourd soup + rice NT$110 (Rm16.50)
6) Downtown Chiayi by Night (along Xingye West Road)
