Icon Siam, Bangkok
Chinatown, Bangkok

Day 8 Sunday Nov 27 2022 - this part 2 of my post focused on my group's visit to Icon Siam Shopping Mall & Chinatown, Bangkok by night.

A selfie taken by my travel buddy, Thompson Tham dedicated to our travel group in Icon Siam, Bangkok!

1) Our group's bus rides from Grand Palace to Icon Siam Mall, Charoen Nakhon Road, Khlong Ton Sai, Khlong San, Bangkok

2) Icon Siam, Bangkok - an iconic mega shopping mall on the banks of Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, the mall was opened to the public on Nov 2018 & has more than 7,000 shops & 100 restaurants. Located adjacent to the APM Gold Line Charoen Nakhon Station, which connects to the BTS system at Krung Thon Buri Station. From Sathorn Pier, you can take a tourist boat & drop off at the Icon Siam Pier.

3) Food Court in a floating market inside the Icon Siam mall offering many varieties of Thai food

4) My lunch in Icon Siam Food Court - roti with banana & eggs 60bht (Rm7.80 = US$1.80)

5) River Park & Icon Fountain - nice promenade facing the Chao Phraya River, very touristy & an ideal Instagram spot !

6) Evening visit to Chinatown, Bangkok - BTS skytrain ride from Petchathewi & MRT train ride to Wat Mangkon MRT station (closest to Chinatown, Bangkok)

Wat Mangkon MRT Station, Bangkok

7) My group's light dinner at a street food noodle stall near Wat Mangkon MRT station, the Chinese steamed rice noodle rolls were topped with dried shrimps & soya gravy - cheap, very tasty & yummy to eat !

8) Chinatown, Yaowarat Road, Bangkok, Thailand. The Sunday weekend had attracted many locals & tourists so most eatery stalls were filled & jam packed with people, making movements around the place especially along the Yaowarat Road much more difficult !

9) As my wife was too tired to venture out for this Chinatown evening visit, I had to "tau pao" (takeaway) one Cantonese style wan tan mee from the Chinatown, Bangkok & another local Thai style wan tan me from a street food stall operating in front of the Petchathewi BTS station.
