My 9 days 7 nights Package Tour to Guizhou, China (March 18 > 26 2025) Day 5 March 22 2025 Part 2

Saturday March 22 2025 (Day 5 - Anshun, Guizhou) Part 2  - after the Longgong Scenic Area visit, our tour group has 2 more visits in downtown Anshun ie Anshun Confucian Temple & Anshun Old City & a late evening hotel check-in ! Old is Gold, both these places have rich historical & cultural legacy ! As for our dinner tonight, I had the opportunity to taste a local brand of baijiu (taste like Maotai ?), the aroma & taste are very unique, how not for the alcoholic drinkers to fall in love with Guizhou baijiu or the premium price Maotai  !  

1) Our tour bus dropped us at a spot nearby the Anshun Confucian Temple. 

2) Sightseeing No 2 Anshun Confucian Temple - also known as Fuxue Palace located in Xixiu District, Anshun City, originally built in 1368 (same time as Forbidden City in Beijing) during the Ming dynasty & re-constructed in 1624, it is one of the 4 major ancient stone architectural complexes in China, the 2 tall dragon figurine pillars in front of the temple are the oldest in China! I had to-date visited the Confucian Temple of Beijing (3 times, the most recent visit was in 2024), Nanjing Confucian Temple (2015) & Confucian Temple, Qufu, Shandong (2010, the birth place of Confucius) in my visits to China during the last decade. 

3) Anshun Ancient City, Guizhou - Anshun in Mandarin means "national peace & prosperity", known for its rich historical legacy & cultural heritage.

5) Our group tour's dinner in a local restaurant in downtown Anshun; for this dinner, we were grateful to our China Tour Guide (Xiao Long) offering an opportunity to our tour members a taste of a local brand of baijiu (made from sorghum & taste like Maotai ?), the liquor has a distinctive taste & go down well with local Guizhou dishes ! Very quickly, each of tour member holding a small glass of baijiu & yell on top of their voice "Yam Seng" ie drink to victory & to the west, it simple means "Cheers" ! What a wonderful night for 2 tables of Malaysian tour members (mostly first timer) having their first taste of Guizhou baijiu ..... a very pleasant liquor drink indeed !

6) Our tour group's hotel accommodation in Anshun, Guizhou - an opportunity to do some cleaning of our used clothing & socks in our hotel room due to our two nights stay in Anshun ! 

7) After the hotel check-in, I made a solo evening visit to places nearby our hotel & The White Pagoda in Guiyang city centre; the White Pagoda (built in the Yuan dynasty) looked magnificent at night from far, also quite entertaining to watch the "young & old"  doing the line dance at the foothill of the White Pagoda !
