Day 3 Saturday August 31 2024 (Malaysian Independence Day) - missing the fun & celebration mood of Merdeka Day (today) in my home country, Malaysia; instead 23 of our tour members + the Malaysian tour leader landed ourselves in a far away Grassland of Ordos, Inner Mongolia - what a big swing !
Travel itinerary: Ordos City > Ordos Grassland (approx 130km)
1) Our tour group's hotel buffet breakfast (No 2), Ordos, Inner Mongolia.
2) A brief stopover for toilet run in a Public Toilet Service Centre, Ordos, Inner Mongolia
Introduction to Prairie Resort of Ordos, Inner Mongolia - Prairie resort of Ordos was open in August 2004, it is a national AAAA level scenic spot, located 9km south-west of Xini Town, Hangjin County, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, it is the largest prairie leisure center in Inner Mongolia. The scenic grassland covers 30 sq kilometers with the main area composed of a principal yurt camp & 300 uniquely designed Mongolian yurts.
The tourism region is consisted by "one core, two wings & six districts" like an eagle flying on the Ordos grassland. One core refers to the recreation hub; two wings are the local culture experience & grassland scenery view, six districts point to the six functional areas - multi service areas, car camp area, folk culture experience area, area for recreation, area for entertainment & leisure & area for ecological tourism.
You are warmly welcome to visit Ordos Grassland, where you can watch Ordos wedding, attend Naadam events & experience Guru show, tasting roasted mutton, visit herdsmen, attend festival obo & Andai dancing. Here, you can truly feel the hospitality of the Mongolian people & learn the prairie customs !
Today, me & my wife together with over 20 of our tour members will train our lens (eyes) on this scenic Ordos Grassland with an open mind - seeing is believing taking home as many beautiful pictures as possible & posting in my travel blog for readers / friends / relatives to admire !
1) Ordos Grassland Tourist Centre, Inner Mongolia - a welcoming ceremony & drinks (white wine) for local & foreign tourists / visitors; from this moment, it was the start of my cultural tourism in Inner Mongolia !

3) Ordos Prairie Zhamayan (Zhama Banquet) - a recommended optional tour (Rm480 = US$108) for tour members (must dressed in traditional Mongolian cloths) who are keen to join & enjoy the big feast, traditional dance & classical music performance ! 8 of our tour members attended this Zhamayan dinner !

13) Grass Skiing, Ordos Grassland, Inner Mongolia - due to a wet weather, most of our tour members skipped this sport ! But in the following morning, I had the opportunity to participate & enjoy this grass skiing ride !
14) The Prairie Train, Ordos Grassland, Inner Mongolia - a 15 minutes fun ride for all our tour members to participate in various games & sports in another section of Ordos Grassland.

24) After the acrobatic show, a stroll back to our yurt hotel complex for a hotel check-in.
25) Overnight accommodation in a Mongolian style yurt in Ordos Grassland, Inner Mongolia. I hope I could sleep well tonight !
26) Campfire Party, Ordos Grassland, Inner Mongolia - an action packed singing & traditional performances by local artists come with cinematic lighting & sound effects ! Towards the end part, you could join in the crowd at the centre stage & become a dancing queen or prince (modeling like John Travolta's Saturday Night Fever) following the tune of the loud music till the performance ends !
27) Back to our hotel after an entertaining Bonfire Party evening ! Hope to sleep well tonight & looking forward for a sweet Mongolian dream while sleeping !
