Travel itinerary (self drive): Subang Jaya, Selangor (my home place) > Jalan Sultan > Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur > Subang Jaya; the total distance round trip is approx 51km.

Pavilion Bukit Jalil Shopping Mall, Pusat Bandar, 2, Persiaran Jalil Utama, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur - newly opened on Dec 3 2021, a lifestyle shopping destination in Bukit Jalil City.

Wednesday Dec 29 2021 - I drove my wife to Jalan Sultan (Chinatown), Kuala Lumpur to buy some Chinese herbal medicine & on our way home, my wife suggested we made a visit to the newly opened Pavilion Bukit Jalil Shopping Mall, located mid-way between Kuala Lumpur & Subang Jaya (my home place). This mega mall is huge & has a 560 metre long facade with a 1.8 million sq ft retail space, adjacent is several high-rise residential buildings ! Being new & due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Bukit Jalil mall was pretty quiet with fewer visitors seen at the time of our visit ! On Christmas eve (Friday Dec 24 2021), I visited the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in Bukit Bintang & I was very much impressed too with the Christmas decor & mystical Christmas trees greeting visitors as soon as you stepped into the main entrance of these two shopping malls ! So I have been there ie my 1st visit to Pavilion Bukit Jalil Mall & done that; perhaps I may make another visit during the Chinese New Year period (commencing Feb 1 2022) to get the feel of the festive mood in both the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur & Pavilion Bukit Jalil shopping malls one more time !

1) Pavilion Bukit Jalil Shopping Mall - main entrance & the surrounding - just opened for business, everything is new & pleasant to see & visit !

2) Christmas Decor in Pavilion Bukit Jalil Shopping Mall - very impressive decor, brighten up my first time visit to this mega mall in Bukit Jalil City, Kuala Lumpur !

3) Walkabout in Pavilion Bukit Jalil Shopping Mall

4) International & local restaurants & food chains opening soon in Pavilion Bukit Jalil ! Good news for gluttons !

Makan Makan (Small Eat) - lunch (Rm29.80) with my wife in Sukiya Tokyo Bowls & Noodles in Pavilion Bukit Jalil; it has been quite awhile I & my wife have not eaten any Japanese food hence our preference for a small eat in this Japanese restaurant !

Cheese Gyu  (Beef) Rice + Salad set Rm18.60 (US$4.40)
Tokyo Ramen Rm11.20 (US$2.60)

Makan Makan (Small Eat - Friday Dec 31 2021, last day of the year 2021) - lunch with my travel buddies KF Wong & Thompson Tham in Soong Kee's Beef Ball Noodles, Jalan Tun H S Lee, City Centre, Kuala Lumpur after a visit to the KTM Ticketing Office, KL Sentral to purchase our train tickets to Butterworth for our group's forthcoming outstation 5 days 4 nights visit to Penang  (Jan 10 > 14 2022); our group enjoyed the lunch very much & look forward to our group's 1st outstation Cuti Cuti (Vacation) Malaysia visit to the Penang Island nicknamed "Pearl of Orient" & also an UNESCO World Heritage site !  Very soon, we will be saying bye bye to this Covid year of 2021 & look forward for better days ahead in our life in 2022 !

Once again, as a retiree, I like to hmm this favorite song of mine, very meaningful indeed ....

All my life's a circle
But I can't tell you why
Season's spinning round again
The years keep rollin' by

It seems like I have been here before
I can't remember when
But I have this funny feeling
That we'll all be together again
No straight lines make up my life
And all my roads have bends
There's no clear-cut beginnings
And so far no dead-ends

Indeed in travelling, all my travelled roads had bends, twists & turns, no straight lines especially in free & easy travelling, some roads were slippery & filled with potholes, sometime no clear-cut beginnings but impromptu in thinking & decision in making and so far no dead-ends if you are passionate & enjoy travelling ! Despite the odds we all have to face in our daily life due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the roller coaster years of 2021 & 2020, all I could do is hold my chin up & soldier on in my own world of travelling, always looking forward for a happy ending in each of my travel, be it small or big - leaving behind my footprints in countries & places I yearn to see & visit, bringing home a story to write & tell !

I wish to take this opportunity to wish all my readers a Happy New Year in 2022 - a "water" Tiger year ! Stay safe, healthy & take care !
