My 29 days to Southern Xinjiang, Gansu & Shaanxi, China (Aug 27 > Sept 24 2025) Day 13 Kashi (Kashgar), Xinjiang

Ancient City of Kashi
Xinjiang, China

Day 12 Sunday Sept 7 2025 (Kashgar, Xinjiang - Day 1) - my first time visit to Kashi (Kashgar), Southern Xinjiang although I had visited Northern Xinjiang in 2006, very impressed with the old city & the surrounding especially after the nightfall. After a slight adjustment to our travel itinerary, we decided to forgo our visit to Tashkurgan (due mainly to public transport issue) & stay for 5 nights, roaming & exploring the old city of Kashgar in greater depth & also joining a day tour to Baisha Mountain & Karakul Lake on our final day stay (Day 5) in Kashgar ! Kashgar is the second last city of our visit to Xinjiang (having visited Urumqi, Korla, Kuqa & Aksu) before flying to Hami, Xinjiang & commencing our visits to 4 major cities in Gansu (Dunhuang, Jiayuguan, Zhanye & Wuwei) & ending in Xi'an, Shaanxi before flying home (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) !

It is now one of the largest mosques in China !  Free admission for seniors above 70+.
