Day 17 Friday 12 2025 (Hami, Xinjiang) Part 1 - missed our flight departing Kashi > Hami but managed to re-schedule the flight arriving in late afternoon; made use of our evening time paying a visit to Altun Ancient Street & on the following day, we visited Hami Museum, Huiwang Mansion & Queen Tianjie Commercial & Pedestrian Street.
1) Kashi Airport, Xinjiang - missed our Shandong Air flight scheduled to depart from Kashi Airport 10.00 but was re-scheduled to 08.15 without notifying by email to my travel buddy (later found out that it was sent to the wrong email address) ! To rectify the situation & after communication with our airline booking agent Trip.Com, we were fortunate to secure two seats (without any surcharge) flying off at 12.30 - so we were on track again but our arrival in Hami Airport was delayed to late afternoon !

2) Arriving in Hami Airport (16.00), Xinjiang & after luggage collection & security check, we took a metered taxi (Y$24) to our hotel for check-in.
3) Hotel Accommodation (2 nights): Homin Selected Hotel, room tariff Rm 133, 2 single beds; conveniently located next to a basement supermarket & a nearby bus stop !
4) Altun Ancient Street, Hami, Xinjiang - late evening visit, a well preserved Qing Dynasty street established during the Qianlong reign, this street is a significant heritage site, reflecting the historical importance of Hami as a strategic location on the ancient Silk Road, where eastern & western culture converged.
5) Bought 2 chicken thighs (Y$16) from a food stall in Altun Food Street for our own prepared noodle cooking in the hotel tonight ! The chicken meat tasted great !
Day 18, Saturday 13 2025 (Hami, Xinjiang) Part 1 - spent our 2nd day in Hami City focussing our visits to Hami Museum, Huiwang Mansion & Queen Tianjie Commercial & Pedestrain Street.
1) Early morning stroll nearby our hotel prior to breaskfast.
2) Hotel buffet breakfast (bought food voucher of Y$20 from the hotel reception counter) - both of us enjoyed eating the buffet breakfast, a good variety of food served !
3) Bus ride from our a bus stop nearby our hotel to Hami Railway station to spot buy our high speed train tickets from Hami > Liuyuan - our next destination.
4) Bus ride from Hami Railway station > Hami Museum, Ximjiang
5) The Hami Museum, Hami, Xinjiang - a regional museum in Hami City, Xinjiang, showcasing the area's ancient civilisation, particularly from the Bronze Age to the Han Dynasty, it houses over 12,000 cultural relics, including mummies, ancient woollen textiles & Bronze Age artifacts , with a focus on Hami's unique history as a Silk Road hub. The Museum offers a comprehensive historical display & hosts thematic exhibitions covering various dynasties. Free admission.
6) Thematic Exhibition of Dehua White Porcelain in the Collection of the National Museum of China, Hami Museum, Xinjiang.
