| Kashi Ancient City by Night |
Wednesday Day 15 Sept 10 2025 (Kashgar, Xinjiang Day 4) - not a great start for my Day 4 in Kashgar as both of us missed boarding our day tour bus departing 15 minutes earlier ie 07.55 instead of 08.30 as advised a day before (due probably to mis-communication). But after paying an extra Y$104, the travel agent has reserved 2 seats for us for our tomorrow day trip ! So we made full use of our available time today & visited the Kashi Museum & the Kashi Old City & the surrounding ! In the evening, we took a leisure walk around the Kashi Old City seeing the best of the old city by night when all the scenic spots were lighted up making the place full of vibes & vibrant !
1) Hotel buffet breakfast in Qinivake International Hotel, Kashgar, Xinjiang
2) Tian Yuan Business Hotel, Kashi - the pick-up point for our day tour (Y$190) bus to Baisha Mountain / Lake - a bad start this morning, we missed the bus meet-up time of 07.55 (departing earlier instead of 08.30 due to mis-communication) resulting in each of us has to pay an extra Y$104 so that we could join back the day tour on the following day !
3) Mao's Statute, opposite the People's Square, Kashgar, Xinjiang - a brief visit !
5) The Kashgar Museum, Xinjiang - built in 2007, main building is divided into 4 floors, there are more than 5,300 pieces of collections & 63 precious cultural relics, famous cultural relics include the three-ear embossed pottery jar from the Northern & Southern Dynasties.
6) Exhibition dedicated to Lin Zexu & the Opium Wars - exhibits of cultural relics & historical materials of the Opium Wars & pay tribute to national hero, Lin Zexu who publicly destroyed millions of kilos of opium seized from British & American ships.
7) Bought freshly baked bread & pastries (Y$12) from Aslima Bakery, Kashgar, Xinjiang
