Long Wan Shan Park, Jingxing |
Thursday Oct 17 2024 (Jingxing County, Hebei) - staying 2 nights in Jingxing with the main purpose of visiting the scenic Mt Cangyan (1,000m high). Due to intermittent rain & gloomy weather, this had restricted our movements in Jingxing & we had to abort a visit to Yujia Stone Village, located 20km from the south west of Jingxing County ! But all was not lost, we used the afternoon free time & visited Hanxin Park & Long Wan Shan Park !
1) Shijiazhuang Bei (North) Station - e-hailing an early morning cab from our hotel to Shijiazhuang Bei station to take a train ride (Rmb9 = Rm5.50) from Shijiazhuang North Station (departing 08.30, 1 hour) > Jingxing Railway Station. Jinxing is near Mt Cangyan, a famous mountain resort in Hebei. You could also take a public bus from Shijiazhuang > Mt Cangyan.
2) Arriving in Jingxing Railway Station - a bit of struggle carrying our luggage to exit the railway station as this small railway station has yet to be upgraded with automatic lift or excavator !
3) A short walk (1km) from the Jingxing Railway Station > Jingxing Hotel for our hotel check-in.
4) Tourist Guide Map on Jingxing, Hebei
5) People's Square, Jingxing - a large square for public to jog, walk & family outing.
6) Pastries & snacks bought in Beijing as finger food for our Jingxing's outing !
7) Jingxing Hotel, Jingxing, Hebei (2 nights stay) - strategically located in the town centre, 1km walk from the Jingxing Railway Station, enjoyed our stay & free breakfast here ! Room tariff Rmb243 = Rm148 per night inclusive of a breakfast, twin sharing

8) Bought fruit juice & instant noodle from a mini-market nearby our hotel.
9) Walkabout in downtown Jingxing & our group bought cooked chicken drumstick & offal from a meat stall selling over the counter cooked meat-based food as takeaway.
10) Hanxin Park (North-West Gate), Jingxing, Hebei - a large recreation park named after a famous army general, Han Xin who fought numerous battles (Battle of Tao River & Battle of Jingxing) against superior forces during the Han dynasty. Also the battle ground between Sino-Japanese armies during the Japanese invasion of Hebei, China in 1938 !

13) Dinner in a Korean Restaurant in Wang Shui Fu Shopping Mall, Jingxing - savoured a fish salad Korean rice dish (Rmb22 = Rm13.20) + cold noodle (Rmb9 = Rm5.40), excellent taste & very appetising !
