Day 3 Wednesday August 14 2024 - after an overnight stay in Pulau Perhentian Kechil, we took a fast boat ride (departing 10.15) from the Fishermen Jetty to Kuala Besut for another overnight stay prior to heading home sweet home by an express bus departing in the following morning (09.00) to Kuala Lumpur !
1) An early morning walk (06.30) in Kampung Nelayan (Fisherman Village), Pulau Perhentian Kechil, Terengganu; enjoying the cool sea breeze, scenic views of Pulau Perhentian Kechil waterfront & Pulau Perhentian Besar from the jetty, watching sunrise from floating mosque & jetty waterfront !
2) Pictures of Pulau Perhentian Kechil & the surrounding contributed by my travel buddy, KF Wong for my travel blog using his newly bought Xiaomei Redmi Note 13 Pro mobile phone !
3) Masjid Terapung, Pulau Perhentian Kechil, Terengganu - a floating mosque in Pulau Perhentian Kechil, dress modesty should you want to enter the mosque for a visit !
4) Walkabout in Kampung Nelayan (Fisherman Village) during the early morning prior to my breakfast.
5) Sunrise in Pulau Perhentian Kechil & Besar as viewed from the Fisherman Jetty. A new day in the making !
6) Learning a new skill using my mobile phone to take selfies, a big learning curve for me ! It's never too late to learn something new ! While posting pictures for my travel blog, my elder son taught me a new computer skill ie using Snipping Tool to cut & copy a customised Google map or image into my travel blog - clean & neat !
7) My early breakfast in a food court nearby the Kampung Nelayan (Fisherman Jetty), each of us savoured a plate of fried noodles + egg Rm8 (US$1.80).

8) Hotel check-out (09.15) & waiting at Fisherman Jetty for our return boat ride (expecting to depart 10.00) to Kuala Besut.
9) On board a fast boat (10.15) for our return boat ride from Pulau Perhentian Kechil Fisherman Jetty to Kuala Besut Jetty (approx 40 minutes).
10) Arriving at the Kuala Besut Jetty, Terengganu thus ending my overnight stay & 1st time visit in Pulau Perhentian island - another dream fulfilled (just like my very recent visit to Batam island of Indonesia in late July 2024) - it's never too late to pursue your dream, no matter how old you are, no matter what is going on in your LIFE, no matter what other people say ...... !
11) Bought a small bunch of fresh bananas (Rm3) from Pasar Awam, Kuala Besut - located behind the Kuala Besut Bus Terminal, Terengganu.
12) Mini bus services from Kuala Besut Bus Terminal > Kampung Raja & Kerteh, Terengganu - good to know if you are heading to the south & nearby towns ie Kuala Terengganu, Marang (transit in Kerteh) etc !
13) Iz Budget Hotel (200m from Kuala Besut Bus Terminal) for another night stay upon our return from Pulau Perhentian Island; room tariff Rm70 = US$16 (2 single beds), convenient location & good for short stay !
14) Dinner in Restoran D Besut Seafood - savoured a plate of mixed rice with deep fried fish & vegetables Rm8 (US$1.80), a simple & no fill meal of the day !
15) After the dinner, a leisure evening walk to the Kuala Besut jetty & downtown area (approx 1km from our hotel), except a few F & B shops & restaurants, most of the retail outlets had closed so making the place here rather quiet !
16) My travel buddy bought a packet of Keropok Ikan (Fish crackers Rm10) & KM bought a packet of chocolate bun (Rm4.20) from a supermarket nearby our hotel to be eaten as snacks for our outstation bus trip tomorrow !
Day 4 Thursday August 15 2024 (Final) Kuala Besut > Kuala Lumpur - a long day awaiting for both of us after boarding an express bus (departing 09.00) from Kuala Besut, Terengganu > Bandar Tasik Selatan (BTS) - a distance of approx 670km taking 10hours with intermittent stops in Jerteh, Permaisuri, Bukit Payong & Ajil (picking & dropping off passengers along the way) plus a lunch break of 40 minutes in R & R Perasing; continuing the bus journey via East Coast Expressway, Karak Expressway & SUKE (Sungei Besi Ulu Kelang Expressway) !
Travel itinerary: Sani Express Bus (Rm36 = US$8, Senior) from Kuala Besut Bus & Taxi Terminal (09.00) > Jerteh (09.20) > Permaisuri (10.05) > Bukit Payong (11.15) > Ajil (12.00) > Kuala Berang (12.20) > East Coast Highway > R & R Parasing > Karak Expressway > SUKE (Sungei Besi Ulu Kelang Expressway) > Bandar Tasik Selatan (BTS, 18.30), Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (663km, 8hrs 3minutes + 40minutes lunch break in R & R Parasing, Terengganu).
1) Sani Express Bus (Rm36 = US$8, Senior, double decker) departing Kuala Besut Bus & Taxi Terminal (09.00) > Bandar Tasik Selatan, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (arriving 18.30)
2) Urban & countryside scenery from Kuala Besut > Kuala Berang, Terengganu
3) Countryside & suburban scenery from Kuala Berang > R & R Parasing along the East Coast Expressway.
4) Perasing R & Highway Stop (40 minutes lunch break & refreshment, toilet etc), Chukai, East Coast Expressway, Terengganu, 273km from Bandar Tasik Selatan Bus Terminal, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

5) A late lunch (14.15) in R & R Perasing, Teregganu - each of us savoured a plate of fried chicken rice Rm8 (US$1.80), a satisfying meal !

7) Suburban scenery of Kuala Lumpur, from SUKE Expressway (newly opened) > Bandar Tasik Selatan, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur - getting nearer & nearer to my home place after close to over 9 hours of bus drive !
9) The last leg of my public transport (19.00 > 20.00) - taking a Rapid KL LRT train from Bandar Tasik Selatan (BTS) > Putra Heights (transit) > SS15, Subang Jaya, Selangor - Home Sweet Home at last !
