Day 7 Saturday June 27 2026 (Krabi) - spent the entire morning focussing on a visit to Ao Nang Beach, my last visit was in June 2013 & an evening stroll along the Krabi Town Riverside Walk.

1) The start of my morning walk from Riverside hotel to Krabi Walking Street & a nearby bus stop to take a local bus (songthaew) to Ao Nang beach, approx. 17km from downtown Krabi.

2) Iconic traffic intersections in Krabi town centre near Maharaj Market, featuring quirky animal & prehistoric sculptures such as the famous Krabi town cavemen, soaring eagles.

3) Maharaj Market, Krabi -  located in the heart of Krabi town, a lively busy morning market catering for locals, selling fresh fruit & vegetables, seafood, meat & cooked Thai food, locals come here to shop, eat breakfast as for me, I just enjoy the local morning vibes.

4) Each of us bought a takeaway pack of roasted & BBQ pork rice (80bht = Rm9.70) from the Maharaj Market as our lunch in Ao Nang beach, lot of meat in this takeaway pack, enough calories for both of us walking & exploring the Ao Nang beach today.

5) Krabi Walking Street & a nearby bus stop to board a local bus (songthaew, 70bht) & a fun ride to Ao Nang beach, KM's KISS (keep it simple & sweet) style of travelling !

6) The start of our local bus (songthaew) ride from Krabi > Ao Nang beach (17km.

7) Limestone formations (mogotes) scattering both the inland & along the coast of Krabi, these geographical features attract rock climbers globally, particularly to Ton Sai Beach & Railay Beach on the Phra Nang Peninsula.

8) Arriving in Ao Nang beach walking street - just take it easy, relax & walk along the beach waterfront & admiring the surrounding ! From this songthaew drop off point, X Base, we started our first 100m walk & backward then forward again another 100m, 200m, 300m ........ breathing fresh sea breeze, hearing the sound of sea waves giving you a calming effect as I strolled along the Ao Nang Walk & beach front ..... no regret for showing up in this popular touristy place in Krabi, my 2nd visit since 2013 !

9) Full Moon Beach Resort, Ao Nanag, Krabi - a 2 star budget friendly hotel resort featuring an on-site romantic restaurant serving Thai, Asian, & international seafood along with garden views & an outdoor terrace.

10) Continuing my Ao Nang Walk - lined with F & B outlets, hotels & beach resorts, cafes & restaurants, travel agencies, souvenir shops, bikes rental, day tour packages etc

11) Sailfish sculpture (fishermen & marlins)  - an iconic landmark in the centre of Ao Nang Beach, a Instagram spot, an ideal place to watch sunset from here !

12) Limestone formations / cliffs / islands off the coast of Ao Nang, Krabi.

13) Ao Nang Beach, Krabi - long stretch of white snady beach & crystalline waters that face the Andaman Sea, the beach is encircled by towering limestone cliffs, making it a scenic spot for beachgoers & islands hopping !

14) Exiting the Ao Nang Beach after almost spending 3 hours of our time roaming the area, for our return journey, we took a local bus (songthaew, 70bht) back to Krabi town followed by a walk to our hotel.

13) Rested in our hotel for 2 - 3 hour in our hotel in the afternoon & spent our evening doing a walkabout in downtown Krabi & the night market.

14) Street food dinner nearby the Black Crab Sculpture Night Market - savoured a bowl of fish maw soup 70bht = Rm8.50 & a plate of Thai style noodle with prawns 60bht = Rm7.30, simply delicious !

15) Durians vendor operating near the Black Crab Night Market - Thai durians are now in season.

16) Black Crab Night Market, Krabi - located opposite the Mud Crab Sculpture, selling a variety of Thai food at street food prices frequented by locals & tourists.

17) Bought a pack of Thai durians (200bht = Rm25) as our supper, just to satisfy our crave for durian eating in Thailand !

18) Krabi City Night Market - a weekend night market with stalls / vendors selling a wide variety of food, clothing, souvenirs plus live music & seating

19) The Krabi Town River Walk (Pak Nam River promenade) - a scenic 1.6km paved pathway running along Utarakit Road from Chao Fah Park to Thara Park, famous for its sweeping veiws of the Khao Khanah Nam limestone mountains & local longtail boats,

20) The Mud Crab Sculpture, Krabi - a tourist attraction located at the waterfront in Krabi town, this place is significant as it offers a prominent viewpoint of 2 limestone hills along the Krabi River.

21) Nok Awk Monument, Krabi - like the mud crab sculpture, the Nok Awk monument is an iconic landmark in Krabi, it features a beautiful statute of a white breasted sea eagle & is situated next to the Krabi River, offering picturesque views of the surrounding mountains & mangroves. Both the mud crab & sea eagle are considered symbols of abundance of Krabi town.

22) Witnessing a full moon during our evening stroll along the Krabi riverside, this brightens the blue sky & the riverfront.

23) Savouring Thai durians (200bht = Rm24) on a riverside bench under a full moon in Krabi Town Riverside Walk promenade; Krabi riverside sightseeing & durians eating making our day in Krabi a wonderful outcome !
