Friday Oct 18 2024 continued from Part 1 (Mt Cangyan, Jinxing County, Hebei) - the most exciting part of my 15 day trip to northern China !
CangYanShan (Mt Cangyan) - an hour of slow walk & hiking from the foothill to Fuqing Temple built over a single arch bridge (1,443 years old) dating back to Sui dynasty (581- 618), many crags (steep or rugged cliffs), deep valleys, arch temples built on cliffs, scenic Fuqing Temple clipped between two mountains, tunnels, Wanxian Hall built in Ming dynasty, Qiaolou Hall, steles, Guangyin Hall, Cangshan Academy & courtyard built during the Ming dynasty, old cypresses & sandalwood trees, Autumn leaves turn yellow, all in all a very challenging & rewarding mountain resort visit for senior citizens like me & my wife (over 70s) & my two travel buddies (over 60s) !
1) The start of my slow & steady walk / hike from the CangYanShan Tourist Area Entrance / Exit Gate > Mt Cangyan Fuqing Temple, drizzling at the time of my visit - so extra caution in walking / hiking due to wet slippery steps & floors ! Raincoat & small umbrella put on good use to shield from the rain !

2) Continuing my uphill walk to Fuqing Temple, my wife was a bit nervous & thought of giving up the walk but after a short while, she plucked up enough courage & walked up with me, slow & steady, step by step, the lower steps & floors were wet & slippery due to drizzling (as both of us are over 70's so had to be extra careful) to the Fuqing Temple, a favourite spot for a number of blockbuster filming ie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Tiger & the latest Monkey King film !

3) The start of my downhill hike (together with my wife, a full sense of contentment after seeing the Fuqing Temple & the surrounding) from the Mt Cangyan Fuqing Temple > The CangYanShan Entry / Exit Gate; my two travel buddies spent slightly more time wandering around the Fuqing Temple & beyond, snapping pictures & admiring the surrounding environment before descending !
4) Exiting the GangYanShan - after almost 3 hours hiking up & down the mountain & rested our feet for 30 minutes at the Fuqing Temple
4) Finally we were at the downhill of the CangYanShan Tourist Area; A big win for me & my wife (against all the odds), despite a wet weather, our courage & sheer determination to walk uphill to see the Fuqing Temple was fulfilled .... a test of my mental & physical strength for this Mt CangYanShan hike !
5) Renjoy Hotel, CangYanShan - a premier hotel for holiday makers staying overnight in this mountain resort.
6) Cable car system under maintenance, hopefully operational soon !
7) Boarding a CangYang Shan mountain resort shuttle bus back to the Customer Service Centre, Main Complex - free services, departing every 30 minutes.
8) Mountain scenery nearby the CangYanShan Tourist Centre Complex
9) A herd of goats walking downhill on a steep road opposite the CangYanShan Tourist Area Public Car Park - an interesting sight !
10) A shopping centre opposite the Jingxing Bus Terminal
11) Dinner in a local franchised chicken rice restaurant nearby the Jingxing Bus Terminal, savoured a pot of this signature braised chicken rice (large) + vegetable = Rmb25 + Rmb2 = Rmb27 (Rm16.50 = US$3.80)
