Day 2 Friday Oct 1 2023 - dedicated our full day visiting Kek Lok Si Temple, Ayer Itam Market, Penang Hill (aborted the visit after seeing a long queue at the ticketing & cable car entrance counter), Balik Pulau Nutmeg Factory & Paddy Fields & touristy places in downtown George Town (UNESCO site). A long day indeed but well worth the efforts in seeing a greater George Town this time !
1) Pasar Awan Ayer Itam (Air Itam Market), Penang
Kek Lok Si Temple, Jalan Balik Pulau, Ayer Itam, Penang - built in 1890 completed in 1905, a Buddhist temple, the largest in Malaysia, an important pilgrimage centre for Buddhists from Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore & other countries in South East Asia.

8) Penang Hill, Ayer Itam, Penang - aborted this visit after advice by the Ticketing Counter, the queue up under the normal lane may take 2 hours for a funicular train ride to the top ! Our group decided to visit Balik Pulau Paddy Fields instead ! Entrance fee Rm6 for senior citizens above 60's.
