The InterCity bus plying between Franz Josef to Nelson made a stopover for 25 mins at the Pancake Rocks Café, opposite the entrance of the Pancake Rocks Blowholes walking trail. Passengers were given sufficient time to view this tourist place. As for me, this was an unexpected visit to view this famous Pancake Rocks Blowholes in the Paparoa National Park (not in my target list of visit). This was indeed a surprise visit and the beauty of travelling free & easy. A great outcome in my travel to the South Island thus far especially in this particular coastal edge of the Paparoa National Park using a public bus.
From the viewing platform, you could watch & listen to the sound of fury of water at work - what a spectacular view !
