New Zealand (Nelson, South Island) March/April 2016

Total costs incurred (1 day): NZ$33.99
Hostel (1 night): NZ$27 (dorm)
Grocery: NZ$2
Bus: NZ$4.99 (InterCity Nelson>Picton)

8) Nelson > Picton (Bus)

My No 8th bus ride (InterCity) departing Nelson (outside Travel Centre>Bridge St) arriving Picton, outside main entrance of Interislander ferry Terminal (08.15>10.40) - 133km - This was the last leg of my tour to South Island (a total of 9 days).

The bus passed through Havelock, a town which produces the best quality NZ mussels for supplies to the local & export markets !

My stay in Nelson was pretty short but I was able to spend an hour seeing the Nelson town by night and a stroll to the Nelson morning market to buy a pack of fresh apples before boarding the InterCity bus to Picton for a connecting ferry ride to Wellington.
