Sunday Jan 8 2023 Evening (continued from Part 1) - my evening dinner & a visit to Jonker Street Night Market & Melaka Riverside walk before retiring to bed!
1) My group's dinner in Our Kitchen Nyonya Restaurant, Jalan Hang Lekir, Melaka - ordered from the food menu a plate / bowl each of the Melaka Nyonya style seafood fried rice, pork Hokkien mee, fried seafood mihoon & curry Laksa, totalled Rm42 (US$9.60)

2) Jonker Street Night Market - opened every Friday to Sunday, this open air night market (800 hanging red lanterns in Jonker walk is one of the most popular attractions in Melaka) attracted a big crowd shopping for an array of food, souvenirs plus entertainment, the start of my evening walk (18.30) in Jonker Street .... plenty of finger food for you to savour as you stroll pass the Night Market & enjoy every moment of your time here.
3) Tan Kim Hock@Jonker Walk, 26, Jalan Hang Jebat, Melaka - established in early 60s producing a range of famous food products made from traditional recipes ie durian & coconut dodol, coconut cookies, pineapple pie, ginger drink, white coffee, sambal etc
4) Street food on sale in Jonker Street Night Market - go for it if you enjoy eating Melaka style Nyonya or Malaysian street food especially after a long walk here !
5) Melaka Riverside Walk by Night - lovely evening stroll especially after a dinner, the walking paths along the shore of Melaka river were well lit with colorful lighting .... a starry starry night for first time visitors or tourists in this historic port city in the Straits of Melaka!

Monday (Final Day) Jan 9 2023 - after an early morning dim sum breakfast, we parked our car near the Dutch Square & spent an hour of time doing a scenic Melaka riverside walk before returning to our hotel for a check-out (11.30). Before exiting the city, my group had a noodle lunch in a Kopitiam & then took a leisure drive home arriving Taman Equine / Subang Jaya at around 14.00. Home Sweet Home !
1) My group's breakfast in Dim Sum Garden, Melaka, ordered assorted dim sum, pork porridge & pau, totalled Rm42 (US$9.50)
2) Bastion Middleburg, Bandar Hilir, Melaka - the Middleburg Bastion was one of the 9 bastions of the Fortress of Melaka, the Dutch name is in reference to the city of Middleburg.
3) Captured German Trench Mortar (1910 > 1914), Dutch Square, Bandar Hilir, Melaka
4) The Windmill, Dutch Square, Bandar Hilir, Melaka
5) Dutch (Red) Square, Bandar Hilir, Melaka - a historic square featuring maroon-colored structures in the Dutch colonial style
6) Hard Rock Cafe, lorong Hang Jabat, Melaka
7) Melaka River & Melaka Riverside Walk - a beautiful morning, clear blue sky, scenic surrounding making our group's morning walk a very pleasant one!
8) Chan Boon Cheng Bridge, Melaka - over the Melaka river.
9) Riverside Street Art, Melaka - colorful murals, beautifying the riverside area, another popular Instagram spot!
10) Jonker Street, Melaka - a well known beautiful street in the heart of Melaka city, a historic landmark, shops with old architectural design dating back few hundred years ago!
11) Prior to our departure from Melaka city to Kuala Lumpur, our group had a noodle lunch in Long Hiang Coffee Shop, Melaka; fish ball & pork mihoon / yee mi soup Rm6 (US$1.35) per bowl

12) R & R Highway Stop in Seremban - a 5 minute break for a toilet run! Home Sweet Home & our group arrived safely at around 14.00 in Taman Equine / Subang Jaya thus ending our 2 days of Cuti Cuti (Vacation) Melaka - a fabulous outcome & fulfilling another of my down the memory lane visit to Melaka!
Makan Makan (Eating) Monday Jan 2 2023 - a New Year reunion Chinese "tai chow" lunch with my Klang travel buddies, Chim, Wong & Hui in Restoran Soon Thong, Taman Selatan, Klang, Selangor, a treat from Wong. My Klang buddies are keen to visit Hatyai & Sadao, Southern Thailand after the Chinese New Year. I am keen to join them if the dates do not clash with my pending visit to North & Central Vietnam (Feb 5 > 24 2023)

Makan Makan (Eating) Wednesday Dec 28 2023 - a set menu Balinese lunch with my travel buddies, KF Wong & Thompson Tham in The Uma Bali Restaurant, PJU5/21, Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Selangor to discuss & firm up our dates & travel plan for a 20 day free & easy visit (Feb 5 > 24 2023) to North Vietnam (Hanoi, Sapa, Lao Cai, Haiphong & Ninh Binh) & Central Vietnam (Hue, Danang & Hoi An); nice ambience, good Balinese food!
