Sunday May 15 2022 (Wesak Day) - an important Buddhist religious event in Malaysia's calendar, which celebrates Buddha's birth, enlightenment & death; the following Monday has been declared as a public holiday ! Due to Covid-19 & Omicron pandemic, this year Wesak Day was moderately celebrated, no street processions in order to mitigate overcrowding.

For this auspicious Sunday weekend, I suggested to my brother & sisters to pay a visit to Selangor Fruit Valley (a fun agro adventure) & Jing Loong Shan Wan Fo Shih (large turnout of devotees & visitors to celebrate, seeking blessings, worshipping, offering prayers etc), both places are near Rawang and about one hour by car from Kuala Lumpur city. Both these places were my 1st time visit ! A great weekend for our group, breathing fresh air & fun tram rides in Selangor Fruit Valley & a feel of the religious & cultural atmosphere in Jing Loong Shan Wan Fo Shih during the Wesak Day (also enjoying a free vegetable noodle lunch) which falls on today ie May 15 2022, a full moon in Chinese lunar calendar !
