" In the end, we only regret the chances we don't take"
" My Staycation & Jalan Jalan (Walkabout) free & easy pre-Chinese New Year visit (16.30>21.00) to Kuala Lumpur city centre on Thursday Jan 27 2022, travelling by Rapid KL LRT train from SS15, Subang Jaya (my home place) to Kuala Lumpur & return, my 26th outdoor trip after a National Lockdown (Movement Control Order / Emergency) imposed by the Malaysian Government on May 6 2021 due to a spike in Covid-19 cases; a National Vaccination campaign is currently being implemented by the Malaysian Government (Phase 1 started in Feb 2021), as at Dec 24 2021 a total of 22.8 million individuals or 97.5% of the adult population in Malaysia have completed their Covid-19 vaccinations, Selangor (my home state) is now under National Recovery Phase 4 (NRP4) starting from Monday Oct 11 2021 hence the Malaysian Government has eased restrictions allowing individuals with vaccination certificate or card for inter-state travels, dine-in restaurants, hotel accommodations & homestays, outdoor sport & activities etc "
Total expenses incurred (3 LRT train rides): Rm5.20 (US$1.22, senior 50% discount)
My Rapid KL LRT train rides from SS15, Subang Jaya > Pasar Seni (transit) > Bukit Bintang > Pasar Seni (transit) > KLCC > SS15, Subang Jaya
There goes my day in Kuala Lumpur city centre - a gloomy weather in the late afternoon, dark clouds looming over the sky, started to rain after boarding a LRT train ride from my home place, Subang Jaya towards Kuala Lumpur Centre, an impromptu pre-Chinese New Year (this year falls on Feb 1 2022) evening visit to Kuala Lumpur City Centre, nicely decorated Chinese New Year decor in Pavilion KL, Fahrenheit 88, Avenue K & Suria KLCC shopping malls, lights up in Petronas Twin Towers & the nearby Australian High Commission building, never mind I had made umpteen visits to premier shopping malls during the major festive season in recent years merely to admire the festive decor (with a catchy theme message) but I never feel bored & always in good mood & spirit after each visit ! I treated each of my KL visit like doing my routine daily morning & evening walk near my neighbourhood - a bit of walking exercise, window shopping & taking it as a small life pleasure amidst a Covid-19 outbreak & adopting a New Normal in my daily life since March 2020 & 2021 ! Needless to say, staying safe & staying healthy are always on top of one's mind during this difficult period !
Travel Highlights:
1) Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Bintang - Chinese New Year decor - the CNY theme for 2022 Tiger Year of this shopping mall is "Blooms & Prosperity" ! May the year 2022 showers you always in good health & fortune ! I was born in a Tiger year (1950) ! Am I a roaring Tiger, maybe I should ask a fortune teller ? More important is a healthy looking "Tiger" able to roam free & easy to places I yearn to see under a New Normal life as most countries are not out of woods yet in battling the Covid 19 & Omicron !
8) Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur City Centre - Lights Up; the two 88 storey "Sweetcorn" standing tall in the heart of Kuala Lumpur city !
KLCC & the surrounding area - nice urban landscape, a great place for an evening stroll & family outing.
9) Australia now Lights Up - 20th > 30th January 2022 - a dazzling light show projected onto the Australian High Commission building in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, opposite the iconic Petronas Twin Tower, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Australia's national day ie Australia Day falls on Jan 26 each year !
