My Staycation & Jalan Jalan (Walkabout) free & easy day trip to Serendah, Batang Kali & Ulu Yam, Hulu Selangor on Sunday March 21 2021 (06.30 > 15.00), travelling by my brother's vehicle (using Waze) together with my brother Weng, sisters Peng & Mei; my 34th outdoor visit after the enforcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO 1.0) by the Malaysian Government on March 18 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic; MCO 2.0 ended on March 4 2021 & switched to Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) on March 5 2021 allowing inter-district border travel but not interstate; my first time visit to the major tourist sites in Serendah, Batang Kali & Ulu Yam "

Travel itinerary: Subang Jaya > Taman Equine > Serendah > Batang Kali > Ulu Yam & return (approx 75km one way; current CMCO allows inter-district border travels but not interstate)

Expenses incurred (group of 4): Rm20 (petrol & toll) + food Rm18 = Rm38 (US$9.30) per pax

Travel Highlights:

1) Taman Rekreasi Perigi 7 (7 Wells), Serendah, Hulu Selangor

The start of our group's leisure drive from Subang Jaya > Serendah, Hulu Selangor (07.00) taking the North South Highway towards Rawang exit. 

1st Stop - Subang Jaya > Serendah (43km) to Taman Rekreasi Perigi 7 (7 Wells), Serendah, Hulu Selangor - a Malaysia' heritage, it is a small dam with 7 sluices which are fed by water through 7 sink holes acting like plug holes in a bath & allow the water collecting in the upstream lake to drain gently ! 

2nd Stop - Air Terjun (Waterfall) Serendah, Hulu Selangor, Selangor - a small waterfall but the surrounding area especially public toilets require some spring cleaning ! A notice board erected by the District Health Office with a caption "Risk of Communicable Diseases" advising the following " Fresh water streams, ponds & muds possibly contaminated with bacteria, virus or parasites. Do not drink un-boiled or untreated water. Do not swim or wade if you have cuts or wounds or abrasion. Swim or wade at your own risk ". So just beware ! I hope this family outing place could be upgraded by local authorities in a not too distant future ! 

3) Countryside scenery in Serendah, Hulu Selangor District, Selangor - green green everywhere, cool cool air everywhere !  Quiet & serene away from the hustle & bustle of city life ! When you are driving in this stretch of roads, start humming John Denver's song " Country roads, take me home. To the place I belong. West Virginia, mountain mama. Take me home, country roads " ! 

3rd Stop Serendah > Ulu Yam (15km) to Sakya Tharig Monastery, Ulu Yam, Hulu Selangor - a Siamese temple practising Tibetan Buddhism, a hidden gem located off the main road, need GPS or Waze to guide you to this location ! At the time of our visit, we were the only group of 4 at the site ! 

4th Stop Ulu Yam > Batang Kali (6km) to Hulu Tamu Hotspring, Batang Kali, Hulu Selangor - a natural hot spring pool, private owned, entrance fee Rm10 for adults & Rm5 for children aged 3-7 years old 

6) Kolam D'Kali Pancing (Fishing Pond), Batang Kali, Hulu Selangor
