My Good Old Days - In April / May 2011, I went on a solo backpacking trip to Europe (36 days) covering 10 countries ie Poland (Warsaw), Lithuania (Vilnius), Finland (Helsinki & Turku), Sweden (Stockholm), Norway (Oslo, Myrdal, Flam & Bergen), Spain (Barcelona), Slovenia (Ljubljana), Croatia (Zagreb), Bosnia (Sarajevo) & Italy (Florence, Venice & Pisa). Seeing the Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan on this particular trip in my home country reminded me of my good old days when I took an Eurolines bus from Barcelona, Spain to Milan, Italy & then by trains to Florence & Pisa to visit the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa .... ! Incredible, the foundations of The Leaning Tower of Pisa (Italy) were laid in 1173 whereas The Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan (Malaysia) was built in 1885 - a time difference of 712 years ! Pisa Leaning Tower is standing 55 metres high whereas Teluk Intan Leaning Tower is 25 metres high; this landmark is now a small wonder standing tall in my home country !

The plaque on the memorial said "At the going down of the sun & in the morning, we will remember them 1914 - 1918"
