" My Cuti Cuti (Vacation) & Jalan Jalan (walkabout) 1/2 day visit to Putrajaya, the federal administrative capital of Malaysia on Sunday 2nd Sept 2018 "
Due to congestion & rapid urban development in Kuala Lumpur city, Putrajaya which is located 23km from KL, was established as the new administrative capital of Malaysia in 1995. This "Garden City, Intelligent City" was built to showcase sophisticated government buildings, office towers, commercial complexes and modern homes nestled amidst beautiful gardens, parks & lakes.
Putrajaya is the pride of Malaysia & this well planned city has a total area of 49 sq km with a population of around 90,000 people. The main tourist attractions in Putrajaya include the magnificent Putra Mosque on Putrajaya Lake, Seri Wawasan Bridge, Dataran Putra, the Boulevard, Putra Wetlands, Ministry of Finance Complex & Seri Perdana.
For tourists visiting Kuala Lumpur, most opted for a half day tour to this signature address, approx. an hour drive from the KL city center. As my visit was on a weekend (Sunday), there were bus loads of tourists at the Dataran Putra & boulevard area - all were eager and excited to see this deluxe city !
My previous visits to Putrajaya were brief so for this visit, I drove my own vehicle and took my time to "roam" this intelligent city visiting the major touristy places in & around Putrajaya !
Like my recent visit to Genting Highlands, this was another productive weekend for me in my home country when not travelling overseas ! Extremely pleased with what I saw in Putrajaya and if you have not been there, put on your walking shoes and explore Putrajaya, a friendly, safe & pleasant environment awaits you to see & admire !
