Sunday Sept 10 2023 (10.00 > 12.00) - A brand new day, a sunny morning & a "colorful" day awaiting me as I will be attending an art exhibition in Avenue K, City Center, Kuala Lumpur together with my wife (she rarely joins me for this sort of staycation, probably she woke up on the right side of her bed this Sunday morning as I only told her of this art exhibition visit while driving her to SS15 Wet Market Subang Jaya to do our normal weekend household buying of groceries, fresh fruit & vegetables, meat & fish etc). A surprise yes from her made my staycation life today a colorful one ! A small win but immense satisfaction after the visit ! 

It was interesting to note that in recent months, a number of touristy places I visited (free & easy) in my home country & overseas were art related (art exhibition & gallery, rainbow village, wall mural, street art in oldtowns etc) ! I hope I have acquired some artistic sense or art sense & become an art admirer, realising that "Art is not a Thing; it is a way of LIFE" !

My travel buddy: my wife

1) Avenue K Shopping Mall, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur - opposite the KLCC Suria & Petronas Twin Tower. Main purpose of this visit is to view an art exhibition which was held on the Rooftop, Level 4, Avenue K. 

2) Avenue K Logos - The Nest & The Cloud on Level 4, Avenue K Shopping Centre, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur 

The Nest - A labour of creativity, each AK log on the Nest is intricately woven together to represent the tapestry of a colorful community that Avenue K brings together. The Nest is a sign of LIFE birthed & a sourced of cultural nourishment. A place to bond & a place to celebrate new possibilities.

The Cloud - Capture memories at The Cloud. Playful puffy white clouds create a pitter-patter of silver rains that calms your mind, soothes your soul, and refreshes your spirit. Every cloud has a silver lining, and this one brings hope for a brighter tomorrow and the promise of a brand-new day.

4) Craft Bazaar, Rooftop Avenue K, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur 

5) Art Exhibition, Rooftop, Level 4, Avenue K, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur - taking a cue from a local Star English newspaper reporting, I paid a visit over a Sunday weekend to view the various art works on exhibits by emerging & established Malaysian artists on the rooftop of Avenue K Shopping Mall, Kuala Lumpur. An "artful" day for me & my wife ! 

6) Petronas Twin Towers - tickets to Skybridge level 41 & & Observation Deck level 86; foreign tourists (age 13-60) Rm98 (US$21.30), Malaysian adults Rm35 (US$7.60), senior citizens 61+ Rm17 (US$3.70); in Sept 2018, I paid Rm14 as a senior citizen for an admission ticket to the Skybridge & Observation Deck ! The view was great & the Skybridge walk was an unique experience ! 

7) KLCC Suria, Petronas Twin Towers & the surrounding - a premier shopping mall & a pair of 88 storey supertall skyscrapers in the City Center, Kuala Lumpur; opposite Avenue K so both of us just show up out of convenience & I have been there, done that !  

8) A little eating pleasure - after the KLCC visit, both of us took a Rapid KL LRT train > SS15 station & had our lunch in Restoran Ding Xiang Sang Nguk Noodle in SS15, Subang Jaya, Selangor (next to the SS15 LRT station, near my home place), my wife savoured a plate of fried Sarawak noodle with pork (Rm14.90 = US$3.25) & KM ordered a bowl of mihoon soup with pork / offal (Rm13.90 = US$3)

Thank God Is Friday Sept 8 2023 - my walkabout in Lorong Petaling, City Center, Kuala Lumpur, a side visit prior to my meet up with my travel buddy, Thompson Tham in REXKL
