Hoi An, Vietnam |
Day 18 Wednesday Feb 22 2023 - focusing our group's visit to Hoi An Ancient Town - using a Grab car for this outstation visit (28km) & drop off & a walking tour of 4-5 hours in Hoi An Ancient Town ! For our return journey back to Danang city, our group used the service of the same Grab car as the best mean of public transport. Total Grab 4 seater car expenses (to & fro) ie 399,000dong + 369,000dong = 768,000dong (Rm154), each pay Rm39 (cost sharing of 4 people) for our public transport in this day trip. Due the Covid 19 pandemic, the local authority has withdrawn the services of The Yellow Bus plying from Danang to Hoi An ! Interesting to note that Hoi An Ancient Town has a similar character with that of the Historic Melaka (last visit was Jan 2023) in my home country, also an UNESCO site (I had the pleasure of visiting Melaka in early Jan 2023 prior to my Vietnam visit !); my last visit to Hoi An was in Jan 2014 with a travel buddy from USJ Subang Jaya (Mr Choy)!
1) Breakfast in Bun Xuong 88 Noodle Stall, Danang - both my wife & myself savoured a bowl of pork rib rice vermicelli soup (50,000dong=Rm9.75=US2.25) prior to our group's day trip to Hoi An, my 2nd visit to this favourite stall & interesting to note that the owner of this stall could converse Cantonese dialect fluently with us !
