Day 5 Thursday Aug 18 2022 (continued from previous post)
Kluang, Johor - focusing our visits to 3 Chinese temples, Kluang Coffee Powder Factory, buying home Shanghai moon cakes & a heavy Indian roti canai / thosai / vadai dipped in curry gravy as breakfast before heading home by taking the North-South Highway & a short rest at the Ayer Keroh R & R rest area. Our group arrived home safely in Kuala Lumpur at around 14.00 !
1) Choo Kong Soo Yin, Jalan Kapar, Kluang, Johor - this old beautiful temple was built by mostly Heng Hwa (Fujian) people as a place of worship in Kluang.
2) Tokong Ang Siang Tai Tee Temple, Jalan Kapar, Taman Kurnia, Kluang, Johor - located next to the Choo Kong Soo Yin Temple, a place of worship in Kluang.
3) Kluang Coffee Powder Factory Sdn Bhd, Jalan Besar, Kampung Yap Tau Sah, Kluang, Johor - established 1966, my 1st time visit, an interesting & must visit when in Kluang, visitors can witness the real process in coffee powder making via a glass wall, raining heavily at the time of our visit, this gave us time to visit their retail showroom & cafe - KF & myself bought a packet of instant pre-mix white coffee (Rm15.50) home !
4) Long Du Gong Chinese Temple, Jalan Durian, Taman Sri Mernanti, Kluang, Johor - near Kluang Mall, this over 70 years old Buddhist temple served the early immigrants as a place of worship & gathering in the good old days !

5) Kedai Kek Yu Kong Moon Cake, Kluang, Johor - famous for its Shanghai moon cakes, so our group (led by my travel buddy, Thompson Tham) made a visit & bought on the spot 2 lotus Shanghai lotus moon cakes (Rm24 white & black flavour) & later in the evening ate as a snack at our hotel lobby - yummy yummy taste & really taste good ! Our group made a 2nd visit in the following morning & each bought home a pack of Shanghai moon cakes (select our choice of white & black lotus, green tea or with single egg yolk or double). The Moon Cake Festival this year falls on Sept 10 2022 so our group members have an early bite of moon cakes this year !

Day 6 Friday Aug 19 2022 (Final Day in Kluang)
1) Makan Makan (Eating) - our group's breakfast (Rm32.60 = US$7.25) in Restoran NSM, Kampung Masjid Lama, Kluang - serving the best Indian style roti, vadil & thosai in town ! Indeed it was a heavy breakfast for me as I have never eaten so many varieties of Indian roti in one single meal ! One up for me in the world of travelling even though it happened in my home country backyard !

3) Kluang Coffee Powder Factory Sdn Bhd - our group 2nd visit & last minute shopping !
3) Kedai Kek Yu Kong Moon Cake, Jalan Lim Swee Sim, Kluang Baru, Johor - our group 2nd visit to buy home a packet of the famous Shanghai moon cakes from this outlet ! KM bought a pack of 4 Shanghai moon cakes (2 lotus black flavour Rm23, 1 green tea Rm12.50 & 1 white lotus with single egg yolk Rm13 totalled Rm48.50 (US$10.80)

4) After our breakfast & two brief stops at the Kedai Kek Yu Kong Moon Cake & Kluang Coffee Factory (last minute shopping), our group headed home via the North South Highway - it was time to hmm our favorite song ie country road takes me home to the place I belong .... a 270km car journey which took approx 3hrs from Kluang to Kuala Lumpur !
5) Ayer Keroh R & R North South Highway rest area - a short rest & toilet run; our group arrived safely in Kuala Lumpur at around 14.00. Home Sweet Home at last after a free & easy 6 days 5 nights Cuti Cuti Malaysia style outing in my home country, Malaysia, A big Thank You to my 3 travel buddies who had one way or another (displaying excellent team work & time management) making this trip an enjoyable & pleasant one !
