1) KL cityscape near Pasar Seni LRT station & Pasar Seni Central Market
2) Pasar Seni (Central Market), Kuala Lumpur - the original market owned by Kapitan Cina Yap Ah Loy at Medan Pasar was moved to this location as an open-air wet market after his death in 1885. Central market was established in 1888 when a building was constructed to house this wet market. The building was made of timber & had tiled floors as well as ornamented cast iron railings & gates. It served its purposes until the late 1930s when the Kuala Lumpur Sanitary Board opened tenders for a new structure to accommodate growing capacity .... in 1986 the wet market was moved to Selayang & the building was re-purposed as an art & craft market named Pasar Seni; not many stalls opened at the time of my visit (around 10.15) !
3) Kasturi Walk, Kuala Lumpur
4) Street art in downtown Kuala Lumpur
5) Petaling Street (Chinatown), Kuala Lumpur - just a casual walk to get a feel of the CNY mood in this touristy place, both KL & Selangor have been declared a "red zone" banning inter-district & state travels, so low tourists turn out is expected !
6) Kwai Chai Hong (Ghost Lane), Lorong Panggung, City Center - closed at the time of my visit, my 4th visit over the last two years !
7) Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur - Chinese New Year decor, a premier shopping mall in Petronas Twin Towers, tourism collapse & travel restrictions especially from China, Asian & Western countries have badly affected the retail sector worldwide including Malaysia !
8) Pavilion KL, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur - one of the very best Chinese New Year decor malls in town, an "Ox-cellent" display ! Blessings of Prosperity theme for this CNY, a premier shopping mall in Bukit Bintang, the Center Court has a display of the "Biggest Golden Bull" in Malaysia & has earned a spot in the the Malaysia Book of Record, my main visit is to watch a 3D animation of a charging Golden Bull ramming past its "glass cage" & the shattered shards flying out at a mall in the city !
9) A 3-D animation show of a Golden Bull charging into the Year of Ox outside of Pavilion KL - I waited patiently at a corner of a high rise building outside of Pavilion KL just to capture a few moments of this spectacular 3-D animated show - simply "Ox-cellent" & "Ox-citing" to watch ! Awesome or "Ox-some" !
10) Fahrenheit 88, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur - Chinese Lunar New Year decor
11) My Jalan Jalan (Walkabout) in Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur during the Chinese Lunar New Year
Sculptor of the Wall Street Charging Bull dies - Italian sculptor, Arturo Di Modica who created the famous "Charging Bull" statute which has become a symbol of New York Wall Street died overnight at the age of 80 ! (Star Newspaper Feb 22 2021); the sculptor's natural death coincided with the 2021 Chinese Lunar Year of the OX, the Charging Bull is the most visited monument in New York after the Statute of Liberty ! In May 2019, I visited New York & took a few pictures of the Charging Bull monument in Wall Street ! Awesome or "Ox-some" indeed !
