Jalan Jalan (Walkabout) in Kuala Lumpur & Klang Valley - Christmas Cheer & Christmas Spirit in shopping malls in Klang Valley & Kuala Lumpur ! Chat Time & Eat-Out with my travel buddies & family members after my recent China Yunnan visit in early December 2019 !
1) Thean How Kong Temple, a six tiered temple of the Chinese sea goddess Mazu located atop Robson Heights on Lorong Bellamy overlooking Syed Putra in Taman Seputeh, Kuala Lumpur; completed in 1987 (Nov 28 2019)
2) Sunway Velocity Mall, Sunway College & Nanjing Street, Jalan Cheras, Maluri, Kuala Lumpur (nearest MRT station is Maluri) - my 1st visit, took a Rapid KL train from SS15, Subang Jaya (my home place) to Pasar Seni & transit by MRT train to Taman Maluri station (Rm2.30 senior); visit coincides with my lunch appointment with Mr Chong in Taman Mutiara MRT station (Wednesday Dec 4 2019)
3) Taman Maluri (Aeon & Sunway Velocity Shopping Mall) & Taman Mutiara (Mytown & Ikea), Cheras, Kuala Lumpur
4) MyTown Shopping Center, No 6, Jalan Cochrane, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur (nearest MRT station is Cochrane) - my first visit; stylish mall with international brands & restaurants; connected to Ikea Cheras, a Scaninavian chain selling ready to assemble furniture, housewares in a warehouse like space.
5) Ikea Cheras, Jalan Cochrane, Maluri, Kuala Lumpur - chat time & a drink (Toffee Tiramisu Smoothie Rm9=US$2.20) with Thomson Tham in Ikea Cafe.
Makan Makan (Eating) in Kuala Lumpur & Klang Valley
1) Sun Kee Yong Tau Fu, SS18/1B Subang Jaya - a light dinner with my wife & younger son on Saturday weekend (16/11/2019) - 20 pieces of Hakka style assorted yong tau fu with soup & deep fried ie brinjal, lady finger, bitter gourd, fu chuk & tau fu pok @Rm1.80=US$0.43 per piece
2) Dynasty Palace, Jalan BS1/2, Olive Hill Business Park, Seri Kembangan (Serdang) - my favorite dim sum lunch with my wife, brother & sisters (6 pax) on Sunday 17 Nov 2019 - fresh, authentic Hong Kong style Dim Sum ie mini egg tart, barbequed pork bun, egg York & custard bun, prawn & pork dumplings, home made glutinous rice with chicken & mushroom, barbequed pork cheung fun, yam cake, fried carrot cake + a pot of hot Chinese tea (Rm96 = US$23).
3) Breakfast (Thursday 21 Nov 2019) with Mr Choy, my ex travel buddy & Qigong mate in USJ 11, Subang Jaya in Seri Melor Indian Restaurant - my favorite dosa (a cooked flat thin layered rice batter originating from South India) with assorted curry gravies + roti canai (shared) + coffee (Rm12=US$2.90 for 2). Mr Choy & his wife had recently visited Xian, Zhengzhou, Luo Yang on a package tour with a group of USJ senior citizens !
4) Serdang Sister Yong Tau Foo, Pusat Perdagangan, Seri Kembangan - yong tau foo lunch (Tuesday Nov 25 2019) with my brother & sisters (4 pax); 14 pieces of assorted yong tau foo (Rm1.70 per piece) ie brinjal, bitter gourd, white tau foo, lady fingers + Chee Cheong fun (Rm5.50) + Chinese tea = total Rm36 (US$8.60)
5) Restoran Hoong Foong Dim Sum, USJ21/10, Subang Jaya, Selangor - lunch with my wife & younger son (3 pax); 8 varieties of Hong Kong style dim sum + hot tea = Rm52 (US$12.50)
6) Restoran New Paris, 62, Jalan SS2/72 Petaling Jaya, Selangor - dinner (Sunday Dec 1 2019) with my travel buddies ie Wong & his brother Boon; 4 dishes ie pork knuckle (Rm55), omelets (Rm10), vegetables (Rm10), omelets with prawns (Rm14) + hot tea (Rm3.60) + rice (Rm5.40) + service tax = Rm103.90 (US$25)
7) Ahroy Thai Cuisine, 48, Jalan Manis, Taman Segar, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur - re-union lunch (Wednesday Dec 4 2019) with my Nov 2019 China Yunnan package tour member, Mr Chong; my tom yum fried mee hoon set lunch + lemongrass drink + Thai cendol = Rm16.90 (US$4.10); Mr Chong set lunch Thai pineapple fried rice (Rm16.90), very appetizing indeed !
8) Week day lunch with my wife at a popular Pan Mee noodle stall in SS19, Subang Jaya, Selangor - my favorite pan mee & pork mee hoon soup (Rm7=US$1.70 per bowl)
9) Chun Kei Tai Bu Noodle, 2G, Jalan Sayur, Pudu, Kuala Lumpur - lunch (Sunday Dec 8 2019) with Thomson Tham, my Nov 2019 Yunnan package tour member from Taman Cahaya, Ampang; hakka style noodle with minced pork & won tan soup (Rm7=US$1.70 per bowl)
