The Valley of the Kings is located in the West Bank of Luxor so we had to take a short boat ride to cross the River Nile. We booked a return boat ride for LE5=Rm3.40 and a return taxi for LE25=Rm17.00 for this visit. Admission fee for the Valley of the Kings cost LE70=Rm47.60 plus a tram ride to the site for LE4=Rm2.70. This place is huge and our entry ticket entitled us to see only three tombs in the Valley. A total of 64 Egypt's Pharaohs were buried here. Some popular tombs had long queues of visitors while others were not. No photography was allowed inside.
It was warm and stuffy inside as we walked past the tomb and admiring the wall paintings.
Next, we had to walk on a hill slope to cross over the other side of the Valley to see the Queen Hatshepsut Temple. Not an easy walk for me as the terrain was rough, rocky and slippery. A wrong footing could prove disastrous to anyone one of us.
We did not enter the Hatshepsut Temple but took some pictures on the Temple at the front entrance.
After spending 3 hours at the Valley of the Kings, our taxi came to the front entrance and picked us up to the rive side for our return boat ride to Luxor town.
We spent another night in Luxor as we needed a good rest tonight.
"I read, I see, I hear. It was great to see the 3 civilized wonders of the world in Luxor"
