My father migrated from a village in Gaoyao district, Guangdong province to Malaya during the 1940's. So I was very eager to visit China at the earliest opportunity but due to the strict immigration policy (due to different political ideology) imposed by Malaysian government on her own citizens in the earlier years of 70's, it was extremely difficult for me to visit China as a tourist during that period.
My first visit to China was in 1997 at the age of 47. My first package tour to China was Beijing, Tianjin & Chengde. In the following year (1998), I visited Kunming, Yunnan & Guizhou. Before retirement (May 2006), I took another 3 more package tours with my family members to China focusing on Guangzhou, Guilin, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Wuxi, Nanjing, Suzhou & Beijing.
