Day 1 Dec 11 2023 - departing Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA 2) by Air Asia at 07.35 arriving Amritsar International Airport at 11.00; my last visit to Amritsar was in 2018 !

Using the OLA mobile phone apps, booked a OLA cab at the Amritsar Airport, Punjab for a ride Rp460 = Rm27 to our hotel (Backpackers Nest, 12km)
Hotel Accommodation: my 2 nights stay in Backpackers Nest, Hall Bazar, Amritsar, room tariff + free breakfast Rp2,014 = Rm116 (twin sharing) per night
Amritsar, Punjab - a city in the northwestern Indian state of Punjab, 28km from the border with Pakistan, at the center of its walled old town, the gilded Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib) is the holiest gurdwara (religious complex) of the Sikh religion, at the end of a causeway, surrounded by the sacred Amrit Sarovar lake, where pilgrims bathe.
Attari - Wagah border visit - after our hotel check-in, both of us took a shared auto-rickshaw (Rp325 = Rm19 per pax) near Partition Museum to Attari - Wagah border between India & Pakistan to watch the famous India-Pakistan border ceremony starting 16.30 > 17.00, a brief stopover along the main road to buy fresh bananas & a light refreshment at a roadside stall near the Attari - Wagah border prior to the performance !

Attari border front entrance - free admission, tight security screening, no carrying of backpacks except wallet, passport & a small bottle of drinking water for foreign tourists !
The Attari Wagah Border Ceremony also known as the Beating Retreat Ceremony was started by the government of both nations (India & Pakistan) in 1959. It symbolises the competition & brotherhood between the countries & their cooperation. Over time, hostility & antagonism between the two nations have significantly decreased !
Attari Border Ceremony Stadium - packed to capacity mainly with Indian visitors & foreign tourists at the Indian stadium end !
The start of the Attari Border Ceremony - cheers & thunderous applause from the crowd, loud commentary, the ceremony is performed by Indian & Pakistani soldiers smartly dressed in army uniforms & attract numerous visitors for both countries including foreign tourists.

Heritage Street, Amritsar, Punjab - one of the oldest streets of Amritsar in Punjab located between the Golden Temple & the Town Hall.
Golden Temple, Amritsar, Punjab - a gurdwara located in the city of Amritsar, the pre-eminent spiritual site of Sikhism, it is one of the holiest sites in Sikhism, also a symbol of human brotherhood & equality, alongside the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Kartarpur & Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib.
Shoe Stand, Golden Temple, Amritsar - temporary storage, shoes off for entering the temple, took both of us a bit of our time to locate this Shoe Stand booth to retrieve our shoes as the temple internal compound is big & has a few gates for exit !
