" My Staycation & Jalan Jalan (Walkabout) free & easy day trip to Sunway Giza Mall, Sunway Nexis & Tropicana Gardens, Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Selangor on Saturday Feb 27 2021 (08.30>12.30); traveling by Rapid KL LRT & MRT trains from SS15 Subang Jaya > Surian MRT station (via Pasar Seni); also my first meet-up with KF Wong of Kota Damansara to explore post Covid-19 overseas travel opportunities; my 31st outdoor trip after the enforcement of the Movement Control Order by the Malaysian Government since March 18 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic; travel restriction limiting to 10km radius within a district had been lifted on Feb 18 2021; my first visit to Sunway Giza Mall, Sunway Nexis & Tropicana Gardens in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya, I always have a nice feeling especially if it is my first time visiting a touristy place or township, whether new or old "  

Travel itinerary (Rapid KL LRT & MRT trains): SS15 Subang Jaya > Pasar Seni, KL > Surian MRT station & return (17km one way)

Travel expenses incurred (2 train rides): Rm3.30 x 2 = Rm6.60 (US$1.65 senior 50% rebate) 

The start of my Rapid KL LRT train ride from SS15, Subang Jaya > Pasar Seni, KL > Surian Station, Petaling Jaya, Selangor 

1) Sunway Ginza Mall, Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya - a covered boulevard of lifestyle shops & alfresco dining outlets that cater to all, very airy walking around the boulevard even though the center court is not fully air-conditioned ! Spotted an old established dim sum restaurant ie Kam Lun Tai at a corner of this shopping mall, hope their dim sum is still retained the original taste like the Good Old Days !

2) Sunway Nexis, Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya - connected to Surian MRT station & housed the Sunway Specialist Centre,  a replica of the opposite Sunway Giza Mall; so rain or shine, you could enjoy eating & window shopping or a family outing in this mall !  

3) Tropicana Gardens Mall, Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya- a new mall located next to Surian MRT station, Covid-19 pandemic has gravely affected shoppers turnout especially for a new shopping mall !  

4) Kota Damansara Town Center, Petaling Jaya - within walking distance to Surian MRT station, so if you have not been here before, just take the nearest LRT from your home place to Surian MRT station & get a feel of this emerging modern township in suburban Petaling Jaya ! Frankly, I enjoyed my time Jalan Jalan (Walkabout) in this township as the 3 shopping malls & town center are close to one another & many eatery stalls serving western or oriental  food to your delight ! 

5) Light refreshment (cold desserts & curry puffs) with KF Wong & get to know each other chat in Nyonya Cendol, Tropicana Gardens, Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya; a treat from KF together with a box of durian cheese cake ordered online as takeaway to be eaten at home. My wife loves eating cheese cakes ! KF, thank you very much for this special "gift" !   

A new dawn, awaiting the first light of the day & looking to spot on a morning glory or bougainvillea in full bloom to brighten up my day - my early "love the neighbourhood" morning walk (07.00) prior to my LRT train ride (08.30) to Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya via Pasar Tani.  

My morning breakfast of the day - a steamed pork dumpling (Rm6), very filling ! 

My supper of the day - a bowl of home made hot tong sui (cubes of yellow & purple sweet potatoes)
