" My Staycation & Jalan Jalan (Walkabout) free & easy day trip (Sunday Dec 20 2020 06.00 > 14.00) to Kuala Klawang & Titigong (Negri Sembilan) & Semenyih Dam (Selangor) travelling with my brother Weng & wife, Sister Inn & Mei by brother Weng's car from SS17 Subang Jaya; my 24th outdoor trip after the lifting of Movement Control Order (MCO) on June 10 2020 but due to a spike in Covid-19 cases, my home state of Selangor was placed under Conditional Movement Control (CMCO) from Oct 14 to Dec 31 but inter-state travel ban was lifted on Dec 9 2020; my 1st visit to Kuala Klawang, Titigong & Semenyih Dam " 

Total expenses incurred: Rm27 (US$6.60) per pax
Petrol & Toll: Rm20 per pax (group of 5)
Food: Rm7 per pax

Travel itinerary: SS17 Subang Jaya > Kuala Klawang > Titigong (Negri Sembilan) > Semenyih Dam (Selangor) > Taman Equine, Serdang > SS17 Subang Jaya (approx 220km)

Travel Highlights

1) Early morning ride from Kuala Lumpur > Kuala Klwang via main trunk roads & North-South Highway 


2) Country roads from North-South Highway exit after Nilai > Kuala Klawang, Negri Sembilan - lush greeneries, cool weather, some stretch of country roads misty during the early morning, ideal for cycle tourism along the country roads leading to Semenyih Dam ! 


3) Kuala Klawang, Negri Sembilan - a small town in Jelebu district of Negri Sembilan state, locals are mainly descendants or migrants of Sumatra, Indonesia hundred of years ago, inheriting a Minangkabaus culture; iconic landmarks are Minangkabaus style buildings, Minang Clock Tower &  Muzium Adat 


4) Titigong, Negri Sembilan - a small Hakka village in the Jelebu district of Negri Sembilan state, main street lined with old pre-war shophouses & coffee shops catering the locals & visiting tourists especially during the weekends, famous for pineapple & cane planting & Hakka kueh (chai guo), young bikers in groups like to chill out in kopitiam / coffee shops during the weekends, iconic landmarks are Shang Di Gong, Street Art, Chun Yin Primary School (over 100 years old) & St Augustine Church

9) Bought 5 pieces of char siew bao (Rm2 each) & 10 pieces of assorted Hakka chai guo (Rm0.90 each) in Titigong, Negri Sembilan 


10) Semenyih Dam, Selangor - built in 1985, one of the Klang Valley major dams in Selangor, scenic lake surrounded by greeneries & forested hills, supplies a major portion of drinking water to Klang Valley population 



9) Our group lunch at an old coffee shop in Titigong, Negri Sembilan - each of us ordered a plate of hakka mi / wan tan soup (Rm5) + soya milk drink (Rm1.50)
